Thank you so much!! (: I'll copy/paste my answer to a similar question 'cause I'm that lazy What worked for me was first drawing each part (the pleated thing, the side things, the pockets, the big buttons and the middle thing) on newspapers and sort of putting them together and trying them on to see what shape/size I wanted for them. Then I bought this nice fabric which is special for pleated skirts because well, it stays pleated. I hope this helped and if you have any other doubts, do not hesitate to ask!! ^_^
Thank you, this is very helpful, Serena is my favorite female character from the anime (maybe because of some personal manners) and I was one of the kids watching the first episodes when they came up here. Actually I spend most the time with the games(I missed many seasons of the series when I was a kid because my mother didn't allowed me to watch it =_=°) and later I gave the newer episodes a try but it didn't fascinated me that much like the first episodes. But it started to change as I've seen some of the black/white episodes, for example team rocket was really cool, maybe it just me, but all the characters seem to be more lively and interesting. Then pokemon x and y where released and I love the game so much, and I was very courious about how the anime was going to be, so since then I'm watching every upcoming episode and I really love it. Ash also seems cooler to me (In the past I didn't really care that much about him or what girl matches him, maybe because I stuck with the games). I'm really looking forward to the next episodes of X and Y *_* Well, that's why I'm maybe going to cosplay her, too in the future (but at the moment I'm working on my Palutena cos though) PS: I hope my english is understandable.. xD
Your English is perfect! ^_^ And believe me, I know the feeling, my mother didn't allow me to watch anime when I was a kid either! I only convinced her to watch Cardcaptor Sakura last year and she finally accepted that anime can actually be incredibly cute. As for pokemon, I played the games but I only watched random episodes from random seasons through my life. But now I've also been watching Pokemon x; I still have to catch up on a few episodes but I'm really liking it Palutena has an awesome character design, I'm looking forward to seeing photos of that cosplay! Best of luck
Thank you! ^3^ Oh, so you really know how I feel x'D And great that you also watch Pokemon XY, I'm looking forward so much to the episodes Yes, I hope it wont take me an eternity to finish it ^^° By the way, do you have a 3DS? We could trade friendcodes but only if you like to
I did have one question. I am trying to make a skirt myself, and am having trouble with the waistbands. Mine ended up looking like one giant waistband, tho I made 3. If it isnt too much trouble, could you tell me how you did that portion? That would be a great help, as yours came out perfect! Thankies!
Hi, thank you so much for your comment!! I'm not sure how to explain it, but I made it the same way I made the pleated part, only that then I sewed them. Was that clear enough? If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask! ^_^ And sorry for the delay, I haven't been much online lately!
Wow, I can't take my eyes off of this picture! I leave, and then I find myself coming back OVER AND OVER. You look exactly how I envisioned a real Serena. SO AMAZING!!!! Umm, but if you don't mind me asking, how did you make the skirt? I mean--I know it's just a simple pleated skirt, but there's also a pocket, and the waist of the skirt...OH, AND WHERE DID YOU GET THE GLASSES?! They are SO screen accurate! Oops, sorry if I'm bothering you! I'm just FANGIRLING SO HARD RIGHT NOW!
Ahh thank you so so much!! It doesn't bother me at all, I LOVE FANGIRLING!! AHH!! Ok, so... the skirt was a pain. What worked for me was first drawing each part (the pleated thing, the side things, the pockets, the big buttons and the middle thing) on newspapers and sort of putting them together and trying them on to see what shape/size I wanted for them. Then I bought this nice fabric which is special for pleated skirts because well, it stays pleated. And the glasses were actually the first thing I got done! I looked for rounded glasses everywhere and I got a pair of black ones, then made the circle in the middle and also some bits at the sides (the ones that give it the cat-eye look) with porcelain and then painted them white with acrilic paint.
I hope this was helpful and again thank you so much!! ^_^
Oh my gosh, this is one of the more acurate serena cosplays i've seen! it looks fantastic XD. I got a question though about your hat, did you make it or manage to find a look a like because i'm planning on doing a serena cosplay also and the hat is stumping me
Thank you so much for your lovely compliments!! As for the hat, the type that Serena wears is a Pork Pie hat, but since I couldn't find one I did this one myself I made the shape out of paper and cardboard, then used the paper mache technique for it to be rigid and finally got the pink fabric and black lace I hope this helped! ^_^
Thank you so much!! I made it myself, and it took a lot of work to get it right! I made it in newspapers first and that helped a lot to get the shape I wanted (: Again, thanks for your lovely comment! <3
